Abstract

Aerial unfolding and aiming system, particularly suitable for satellite aerials, capable of providing, in a combined way, functions of unfolding, structural support and aiming of aerial reflectors after a launch, and consisting of (Fig. 1): linear actuators 1; unfolding devices 2 which make the reflector 4 unfold about the hinges C1 and C2 to assume a configuration in the form of a straight bar from the foot P, which is integral with the satellite, to the point O of the reflector, in such a way as to fix the said point for the subsequent operations, keeping its distance from the point P of the satellite unchanged; and supporting elements 3. The linear actuators 1, which move C1 and C2 according to the straight lines of action A1 and A2, cause rotations of the aiming of the reflector 4 about the straight lines OC2 and OC1. The supporting elements 3 complete the structural connection of the reflector 4 to the body of the satellite 5. <IMAGE>
