Abstract
Procedure for obtaining, on one film, the reproduction of a part of the skeleton and the outline of the soft tissues related thereto, and device for performing it, to be used especially for preparing maxillo-facial and aesthetic surgery operations, comprising the stages of: a) placing a metallic reference on each cheekbone of the patient; b) installing a radiogenic tube on a teleradiograph with a cephalostat, in a position such as to perform teleradiography of the head in centric occlusion; c) performing teleradiography of the cranium with partial filtration of the radiation in order to show the somatico-facial profile; d) removing the radiogenic tube from its position; e) installing a photographic machine on the teleradiograph in such a way that its optical axis coincides with the axis of the beam of X rays emitted by the radiogenic tube; f) making a photograph of the patient's head; g) developing both the teleradiogram and the photographic film; h) tracing the negative of the radiogram onto acetate paper and then i) superimposing the acetate paper and the photographic negative, and finally j) printing the result using a single-emulsion film. The device consists of a support for the photographic apparatus which can be easily fitted into position on the teleradiograph in such a way that the optical axis of the apparatus coincides with that of the beam of X rays of the radiogenic tube previously installed on the apparatus. <IMAGE>
