Abstract

According to the invention a method for reduction of pollutant gases produced by burning of fuels is implemented in a combustion cycle that comprises: - a phase of admission of combustion air of the mixture of fuel in a combustion zone or to a combustion or explosion chamber; - a phase of combustion and/or explosion of the fuel accomplished by known means; - a phase of discharge of the products of combustion to the atmosphere and which is characterized by the fact that in any phase of the cycle but before discharge of the combustion products to the atmosphere ionized and/or ozonized air is admitted to the system carrying out the combustion cycle. The ionized air and ozone, which convert carbon monoxide to carbon dioxide, are produced by known means, for example, electronic devices with increased voltage through which a stream of air is passed, said devices being applied either after combustion has occurred and before the exhaust gases come in contact with the atmosphere or even before combustion occurs.
