Investigating Strength Of Materials By Application Of Mechanical Stress

Abstract
The method for determining a material's fatigue limit that is most reliable is the classic Wohler method. This, as noted, is based on curve construction o (applied load) in the function of N (number of cycles): o=f(N). Such a method still offers non-indifferent times. In fact when it is near to the occurring fatigue limit, the normal test device, averages 30 test hours for each specimen. Other proposed test methods that have special literature give sufficient guarantees for the reliability of the result. As indicated by these devices it is necessary to run the normal fatigue testing machines to be able to determine the fatigue limit's speed and reliability in amount of time no more than 1/10th necessary when using the classic Wohler method. The proposed solution, which has already been proved on several occasions, is based on installing sensors capable of displaying the surface temperature of the specimen during the test.
