Abstract

This hydrator for lime carries out mixing of the mass (M) in chemical transformation by means of rotating blades (11A, 11B) with at least two spindles (8A, 8B) essentially horizontal and parallel, present in one stage (2). The blades of each of the two spindles are provided with their own peripheral trajectory (19) interfering with that (20) of the blades of the other spindle, in order to carry out further mixing deformation on a mass of lime (M) being processed. The blades (11A) of each rotating spindle (8A) skim a base (5) of cylindrical shape which, due to the interference of the ends of their trajectories (19, 20) joins the base skimmed by the blades of the other spindle (8B), creating a doubly concave section with central cusp (23). Operative intervention of the two parallel spindles mentioned (8A, 8B) takes place after initial processing carried out in a first (1) mixing stage by means of the blades of a spindle (7) operating in a conjugated upper central area with cylindrical base (4). The operative intervention of the two parallel spindles mentioned (8A, 8B) is followed by final processing carried out in a third mixing stage (3) by means of the blades of a spindle (9) operating in a central lower conjugated area (6). These three stages (1, 2 and 3) mentioned, operate continuously and cause the lime (M) to drop (18, 28) onto the stage below by means of overfall (17, 27 and 29) situated at one end. The rotation directions of the two parallel spindles (8A, 8B) are preferably opposite and such (21, 22) as to diverge on the upper part of these spindles.
