Abstract

The tennis teaching device consists of a disc (2) fixed to the handle of the racket (1). The rim of the disc is of triangular cross section and carries a block (3) mounted on rollers so that the block can run around the rim of the disc. A cord (4) has one end attached to the block (3) and its other end attached to a convenient post or fence. When the player makes a stroke with the racket the block (3) runs around the rim of the disc and a spring arm (5) passes over one or more of the contacts (6) projecting from the surface of the disc. These contacts can be arranged to emit an electric signal which switches on a signal lamp or a purely acoustic signal may be emitted. This signal indicates if the player has made the stroke correctly.
