Abstract

The acoustic insulation unit for an air hole in a window frame consists of a cover for the hole which encloses an absorbent element. The unit is made in the form of a casing, e.g. of aluminium or a synthetic material, containing an absorbent element which is of a larger area than the holes in the window frame. In between the absorbent element and the frame there is a gap which forms a duct joining all the air holes along one side of the frame. The casing can be aligned symmetrically with the hole or offset to one side. The frame can have an insulation unit on one or both sides.
