Abstract

The panelling comprises a double-glazed element filled with transparent phase-change material generating heat when it solidifies in the temp. range 5-28 deg.C. To permit day and night operation, the element also acts as a window with restricted heat loss. Pref. the filling is a salt mixt. contg. e.g. CaCl2, KCl, and CaCl, CaCl2.6H2O, CaBr2.6HO2, in proportions of ca. 40-52, 4-7.5, and 70, 30% respectively, with seeding agent such as SrCl2.6H2O. The CaCl2, KCl mixt. is made up with 55% water.
