Abstract
The wire-drive for a window regulator absorbs elongation of wire automatically. Both ends of a driving wire (8) are wound round two pulleys arranged parallel (3,7) in the same direction. A first gear (4) is secured coaxially to the first pulley (3). A second gear (6) is adjacent coaxially to the second pulley through ratchet teeth (6b,7b). The first gear and second gear are meshed to each other. When the wire is wound up round the first pulley slack in the wire is wound up round the first pulley and the second pulley remains stopped. When the wire elongates to loosen the tensile force, a lever, a shaft (2), the first pulley, the first gear and the second gear are rotated, but the second pulley is not rotated by the braking forces of a wave washer and a spiral spring, until the tensile force of the wire overcomes these braking forces.
