Abstract
The contactless electronic control system may be used in an urinal, to switch on flushing water when a user is standing in front of a urinal stall. It operates on the doppler principle, using microwaves. The microwave module (1) incorporates a transmission diode and a pair of mixing diodes (M1,M2) set in a given geometrical relationship to each other. The phases of the output signals (S1,S2) of the two mixing diodes alter with movement of the user towards or away from the urinal and the microwave module. The output signals pass via amplifiers to a phase discrimination circuit. This is connected to an evaluation circuit which in turn is connected to a valve operating device. A stabilised voltage source supplies a driving voltage to all the circuit elements.
