Abstract
The torch body includes a handle and a mixing chamber fed with acetylene and oxygen by two pipes and valves; on the outlet of the mixing chamber is a nozzle providing a flame. In the torch body is a third pipe, fitted with a push-button valve delivering oxygen to a cutting nozzle located below, and inclined w.r.t. nozzle, so that a stream of cutting oxygen can be fed into the flame leaving nozzle. In a pref. alternative, nozzle is located above nozzle, but is still inclined towards nozzle; the torch body is pref. also fitted with a hand guard. This torch is similar to that described in AU31651/77, but is designed to reduce the consumption of costly acetylene and 02, e.g. when cutting steel plate.
