Abstract
Appts. for filling by welding using a plasma arc consists of a torch connected to a source of gas for formation of the plasma, a source of protective gas and a source of carrier gas for the powdered filling material. The torch is attached to a water cooling device and also to a device for control and supply of power for formation of a transferred arc between the torch electrode and the piece to be filled, and of a non transferred arc between this electrode and a noxxle of the torch. Specifically, the torch includes >=2 cooling circuits fed from a distributor arranged for connecting at least one of the circuits at anyone time to the cooling appts., and this is either in series or in parallel with another circuit. The appts. is easier to maintain and offers improved scope of usage.
