A method of injection moulding plastics material onto a pre-formed sheet or strip, which is held under tension while in mould comprising a cavity and a core consists of holding the strip under tension by a weight while inside the mould and while the mould is closed. The weight is attached to the strip by a clamp and the clamp and weight are free to move with the strip as the mould closes. Pref., a uniform tension is applied while the mould is being closed, i.e., the tension is applied by a first weight, and then a further increase in tension is provided, by a second weight during the final closure, this latter tension then being maintained. Used for applying injection moulding onto woven materials, non-wovens, paper or plastics sheet.
