Abstract
The reaction of organic Si cpds., contg. >=1 Si-N bond, with polybasic inorganic or organic acid anhydrides, (A), is catalysed by 0.1-5 wt. % w.r.t. organic Si cpds., of anion-active catalysts, (I), which, in max. 1% soln., lower the surface tension of water to =50 (=38) mN.m-1, or by their water-insoluble derivs. (I) may be (a) H2SO4 mono- or di-esters, (b) N-derived onium salts of H2SO4 mono-esters, (c) fluoroalkyl-, alkyl- or alkylaryl-sulphonic acids or their N-derived onium salts or (d) alkyl-or trialkylsilyl esters of the acids listed in (c). Use of (I) allows introduction of (A) into hexamethyldizilazane or dialkoxy-tetramethyl-disilazane, e.g. prepn. of Me3SiNH-COO-SiMe3 in 94% yield, by reacting Me3Si-NHSiMe3 with CO2. Reaction takes place at room temp. or moderately high temps. The prods. obtd. are highly reactive silylating agents, e.g. useful as protective gp. carriers in the synthesis of antibiotics.
