Abstract

The toothbrush with a detachable head (4) may have a head of 'U' shape in transverse section and which spring clips onto the end (1) of the handle. The handle may be hollow and contain a reserve of toothpaste. The connection between the head and the handle may provide both longitudinal and vertical restraint. The longitudinal restraint may comprise a transversely offset tenon (11) which projects from the back (5) of the head and engages a socket (12) in the handle end (1). The vertical restraint i.e. in the same sense as bristle projection, may comprise chamfered internal returns (8) from the tops of the head section walls (7), and which clip over the handle end (1) section (9). The head section side-walls may include demi round upwardly projecting central tabs (13). Head removal is, thus, effected by inverting the brush and pressing the tabs (13) against a firm plane horizontal surface.
