Abstract

The metal container body has a thin tubular side wall closed at one end by a bottom wall thicker than the side wall. The bottom includes a rigid channel portion upon which the body is capable of standing, and a downwardly concave annular bead forming at least part of a flexible panel portion of the bottom and joined by the channel portion to the side wall.
