Abstract

The process is for removal of dampness from buildings, and for automatic prevention of recurrence of dampness. Water is prevented from rising along wall capillaries by horizontal distributor electrodes (1) in the wall (2), or at its bottom edge, and by sloping collector electrodes (3) in the base or foundations (4). These are connected to an automatic direct-current generator (5). The electric charge imposed on the wall cross-sectional surface for a distributor electrode exceeds, and has the same potential as, that for the capillary moisture. The generator automatically responds to onset of rise in capillary moisture.
