Abstract

The radio transmission system employs a method of conding which opens up new possibilities and is especially suitable for transmitting colour television signals without using a line-frequency change-over switch. The two (or more) information signals occupy different frequency bands and consist of groups of lines repreated with constant frequency spacing. The two (or more) carriers are amplitude modulated. One (or all but one) are suppressed. The two (or more) carriers are chosen to have frequencies (different form one another) equal to M/2 (or M/N) times the constant frequency spacing of the line groups, where M is an odd integer.
