Abstract
1491133 Bearings; lubrication TELDIX GmbH 28 Jan 1975 [30 Jan 1974 5 June 1974] 3648/75 Heading F2A A rotary device for use in a spinning unit for open-end spinning comprises a stator 11, a resiliently-supported bearing 7 carried by a projecting portion 10 of the stator 11, and a rotor 1 carried by the bearing 7; wherein the rotor 1 includes a pin 6 which is rotatably mounted in the bearing 7 and a cup-shaped portion 9 co-axially surrounding the pin 6, the bearing 7 and the projecting portion 10; wherein a stator winding 19 is mounted on the projecting portion 10 within the cup-shaped portion and magnets 20 are provided on the inner surface of the cup-shaped portion 9 facing the winding 19 and arranged to be coaxial to the axis of rotation 8 of the rotor 1; wherein the rotor 1 has its largest moment of inertia about the axis of rotation 1; and wherein the centre of gravity of the rotor 1 lies within the bearing 7. Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown) illustrate details of the bearing arrangement in an embodiment. A sintered or plastics bush 23 is carried by a grooved sleeve 25 and a surrounding resilient bush 28. Axial location is by means of a magnetic ring 48 and a coaxial return ring 49, which hold a disc 47, secured to a bearing pin 22, in contact with the bush 23. The disc 47 also acts as an oil thrower and, in combination with labyrinth rings 50, 51, provide sealing for the unit. Lubrication is provided by felt reservoirs 30, 31, connected by channels 27 and 45.
