Abstract

The present invention relates to a yeast cell comprising: a) a disruption of deletion of one or more gene native in the yeast cell coding for an enzyme having glycerolphosphate dehydrogenase (GPD) activity; b) an exogenous polynucleotide coding for an enzyme having aldehyde oxidoreductase activity wherein the polynucleotide comprises a nucleotide sequence coding for an amino acid sequence with at least 50% amino acid sequence identity with SEQ ID NO: 12.
