Abstract

According to the present invention 150 MPa or greater residual stress is made to be present in a range within 300 µm in the direction of rolling and in a range of 42 µm or greater in the direction of sheet thickness in the vicinity of a strain region and strain regions are formed periodically at intervals of 2,10 mm in the direction of rolling thereby achieving superior transformers steel loss in a 1.5 1.9 T excitation region. Thus a grain oriented electrical steel sheet for an iron core with little energy loss during transformer operation can be obtained.
