Abstract
During file restoration a second server device (3b) sends to a first server device (3a) a directory snapshot that was configured by a file system of the first server device (3a) at a date/time associated with a restoration destination directory said directory snapshot existing among file data stored in a second storage device (10b) and extending from the highest level directory to a specified lower level. The first server device (3a) restores the directory snapshot to a first storage device (10a). If a request has been sent from the first server device (3a) the second server device (3b) reads an additional directory snapshot from the second storage device (10b) and sends said additional directory snapshot to the first server device (3a).
