Abstract

A hydraulic front wheel brake provided for a front wheel is operated by a right lever through an actuator of a front wheel anti-clock modulator. Meanwhile, a left lever distributes a braking force appropriately to the front wheel brake and a rear wheel brake through a master cylinder unit of an interlocking brake modulator. The actuator is disposed between the front wheel brake and the master cylinder unit and is controlled by an ECU based on& detection signs! of a vehicle speed sensor provided for the front wheel. Input power restriction means is provided between the master cylinder unit and the rear wheel brake for restricting input power higher than a fixed level to the front wheel brake to prevent locking of the rear wheel. The actuator and the master cylinder unit are integrated to form at brake modulator unit with the brake modulator unit being disposed &n the inner side of a front cover which covers a front portion of a vehicle body.
