Claims (7)

What we claim is :
1. ) The use of anion exchangers or mixtures of anion exchangers for the treatment of plant growth supporting substrates to reduce bromide residues in and/or to prevent damage to plants cultivated on substrates decontaminated with bromine-containing compounds .
2. ) The use according to claim 1 characterized in that the anion exchangers are. amino or ammonium group containing anion exchange resins.
3. ) The use according to claim 1 characterized in that the anion exchangers are macroporous or microporous polymers of a monovinyl compound crosslinked with a polyvinyl compound.
4. ) The use according to claim 1, characterized in that the anion exchangers are condensation products of an aliphatic or aromatic amine with epichlorohydrin, formaldehyde or a mixture thereof.
5. ) The use according to claim 1, characterized in that the anion exchangers or anion exchanger mixtures are employed in the salt form.
6. ) The use according to claim 1, characterized in that anion exchangers are employed in the 0H-, NO - HPO^-, Η2Ρ0^~ , HCO^" or CO^-form.
7. ) The use according to claim 1 to reduce the bromide content of vegetables. 9.) Method of reducing bromide residues in and/or preventing damage to plants cultivated on substrates decontaminated with bromine-containing compounds which comprises mixing said treated substrate with an effective amount of an anion exchange resin.
