1459485 Pharmaceutical packs CIBAGEIGY AG 11 Feb 1974 [13 Feb 1973] 06134/74 Heading A5B A pharmaceutical treatment pack for oral treatment with oestrogen, especially for treatment of the climacteric syndrome, comprises a container, card or other support member in or on which there are arranged two or more sets of 5 dosage unit oestrogen-containing preparations suitable for oral administration to a human female and two or more sets of 2 dosage unit oestrogen-free preparations or of objects indicating no oestrogen treatment, the sets being located in a particular order, together with indications and/or instructions to indicate and facilitate a treatment extending over two or more consecutive periods of 7 days consisting, of the oral administration of one of the oestrogen-containing dosage unit preparations on each of the first five successive days of every 7-day period and the administration on the last two days of every such period of an oral, but oestrogenfree, dosage unit preparation or no preparation. The oestrogenfree preparation may 'be a placebo. Oestrogens mentioned are the "conjugated oestrogens" (mixture of sulphates of oestrone, e.g. equiline, equilenine and of the corresponding 17- hydroxy compounds generally obtained in the form of sodium salts from the urine of pregnant mares), 1α-ethyl osetrone, oestriol and oestradiol valerate.

Claims (10)
1. A medicament pack for the oral treatment with oestrogens, in particular for the treatment of the climateric syndrome, which comprises a tube, card or other support-member in or on which there are arranged two or more sets of 5 dosage unit oestrogen-containing preparations suitable for oral administration and two or more sets of 2 dosage units oestrogen-free preparations or of objects indicating no oestrogen treatment, the sets being located in a particular order to indicate periods of 7 days consisting of oestrogen-containing preparations for the first five successive days and on the last two days of every such period an oral, but oestrogen-free, preparation or no preparation.
2. A medicament pack according to claim 1, which consists of 4 times the daily dope in tablet form for a 7 day period, the 6th. and 7th. daily doses consisting in each case of a placebo.
3. A medicament pack according to either of claims 1 or 2, which contains an orally active oestrogen or a substance with oestrogen activity as oestrogen.
4. A medicament pack according to either o claims 1 or 2, which contains an oestroge with slight endometrial action as oestrogen.
5. A medicament pack according to either of claims 1 or 2 , which contains a conjugated oestrogen, 7a-methyl ©estrone, oestriol or oestradiol valerianate as oestrogen.
6. A medicament pack according to either of claims 1 or 2, which contains 7a-methy1 oestrone as oestrogen. 44094/2
7. A medicament pack according to any one of claims 1 to 6, in which the initial daily doses are greater than the last.
8. A medicament pack according to claim 7, in which the initial doses are gradually reduced after the first 5 daily doses.
9. A medicament pack according to any one of claims 1 to 8, which contains in the initial daily doses an oestrogen which is different from that contained in the last dally doses.
10. A medicament pack according to claim 9, in which the daily doses 1-5, 8-12 , 15-19 and/or 22-26 contain respectively another oestrogen.
