Claims (6)

1. A microwave arrangement suitable as power generator or amplifier having a plurality of coaxial circuits provided each with a solid body diode with a negative resistance at one end with a lossy termination element at the other end, all circuits being connected to a hollow cavity resonator which synchronises the signals delivered by the individual circuits and combines their power, wherein the coaxial circuits are disposed at the periphery of the hollow cavity resonator of circular cross section in such a manner that their axes extend parallel to the axis of the resonator and that they are fixedly connected to the hollow space resonator at a distance from the said solid body diode, which is determined with respect to the wavelength λ corresponding to the resonance frequency of the resonator.
2. A microwave arrangement according to Claim 1, wherein each coaxial circuit comprises a quarter wave (λ/4) impedance transformer which is coupled to the diode by an inner conductor of the" coaxial circuit.
3. A microwave arrangement according to Claim 2, wherein the termination element of each coaxial circuit consists of a ferrite cylinder, whose end is situated at a distance from the quarter wave transformer (λ/4) equal to a multiple of the wave length λ.
4. · A microwave arrangement according to any of the preceding claims , wherein the hollow cavit resonator is placed at a distance from the diode, corresponding to an odd multiple of a quarter of the wavelength.

A microwave arrangement according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the inner conductors of the coaxial circuits are disposed over part of their length within a scalloped or semicircular wall portion of the outer housing of the hollow 43866/3 space resonator which housing also forms portions of the outer conductors of the coaxial circuits. ;!4
6. A microwave arrangement according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the diodes are impact avalanche transit time (IMPATT) diodes. PARTNERS SC:CB
