Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide the title compsn. for forming a synthetic plastic plug having the external appearance of natural cork, contg. a thermoplastic resinous material which has good compatibility with an adhesive and low processing temp., a caramel colorant which imparts the color of the natural cork to this and a blowing agent. CONSTITUTION: In a compsn. for forming a molded article having the external appearance resembling that of natural cork, an aimed compsn. is obtd. by compounding a thermoplastic resinous material as the major ingredient thereof, which is compatible with a caramel colorant and has a processing temp. being not so high as to degrade the caramel colorant during the molding operation (e.g. ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, etc.), and the caramel colorant which is present in an amt. sufficient to impart to the thermoplastic resinous material the color of natural cork and a blowing agent. In addition, this compsn. is fed into a cavity C through a valve P1 from a nozzle N1 being brought into contact with a hot runner manifold HR and is foam-molded by pressing and heating to obtain an article 12 consisting of a synthetic plastic plug[JPS5025307A]
Claims (12)
1. Transfer materials which comprise a substrate which has been printed or otherwise coloured with one or more inks each of which contains two or more sublimable disperse dyestuffs which give a similar shade but which are of dif ering degrees of volatility.
2. Transfer materials as claimed in Claim 1 wherein each dyestuff giving a similar shade consists of a mixture of dyestuffs each of which volatilises at substantially the same rate.
3. Transfer materials as claimed in Claim 1 wherein at least one of the dyestuffe consists of a single dyestuff giving the appropriate shade and the remaining dyestuff or dyestuffs each consists of a mixture of dyestuffs which together give the same shade as one of the single dyestuffs, the dyestuffs present in each mixture having substantially the same volatility which is either greater or smaller than that of the single dyestuff of the same shade. *.
4. Transfer materials as claimed in any of Claims 1 to 3 wherein the dyestuffe giving a similar shade differ from each other by a factor, as hereinbefore defined, of at least 10 seconds.
5. · Transfer materials as claimed in any of Claims 1 to wherein the difference between the factors is at least 5 seconds.
6. Transfer materials as claimed in any one of Claims 1 to 5 wherein the substrate is paper.
7. · Transfer materials as claimed in any one of Claims 1 to 6 substantially as described herein and shown with reference to any one of the Examples. Dd.25679 U.K.
8. Process for the manufacture of the transfer materials as claimed in Claim 1 which comprises printing a substrate with one or more inks each of which contains two or more sublimable disperse dyestuffs which give a similar shade but having differing degrees of volatility, drying being carried out after the application of each ink.
9. · Process for the manufacture of the transfer materials aa claimed in any one of Claims 1 to 7 substantially as described herein and shown with reference to any of the Examples.
10. Process for the transfer colour printing of synthetic textile materials which comprises contacting a transfer material as claimed in any one of Claims 1 to 7 with the synthetic textile material, the printed surface of the transfer material being in contact with the surface of the synthetic textile mater .al which is to be printed, and thereafter heating the transfer material and the synthetic textile material whilst in contact so as to effect transfer of the dyeetuff or dyestuffs from the transfer material to the synthetic textile material.
11. Process as claimed in Claim 10 wherein the transfer is carried out under a reduced air pressure.
12. Process as claimed in Claims 10 or 11 wherein the synthetic textile material is a carpet, rug or far fabric having a pile or tufts of a synthetic textile material. .
