Abstract
1444563 Pigmented synthetic resins DYNAMIT NOBEL AG 25 Sept 1973 [29 Sept 1972] 44958/73 Heading C3P A thermoplastic plastics moulding composition contains a pigment which absorbs a major portion of visible light and which causes remission of at least 35% of infra-red radiation incident thereon at substantially all wavelengths in the range 2250 to 750 nm. Polyvinyl chloride is the preferred plastics material and the pigment may be black anthraquinone pigment or black Sb 2 S 3 or Sb 2 S 3 -Sb 2 (SO 4 ) 3 . The material is used for structural members such as window and door frames.

Claims (2)
1. CLAIMS . . . 1. Λ synthetic thermoplastic plastics moulding composition which comprises at least one pigment which .is capable of high absorption of visible light and simultaneously high reflection of infra-red radiation.
2. A composition as claimed in Claim 1, which comprises polyvinyl chloride as main or' sole thermoplastic plastics component. . . . 5. A composition as claimed in Claim 1 or 2, which comprises said at least one pigment in an amount of from , 0.2 to 5% by weight. . 4. A composition as claimed in Claim 1, 2 or 3, which comprises a black pigment constituted by SbgS^ or S¾2S3"St2^S0 ^3 ^n α ^ack modification for imparting a grey to black tone thereto. 1 5· A composition as claimed in Claim 1, 2 or 3, which comprises a black anthraquinone pigment. A synthetic thermoplastic plastics moulding 6 · composition as claimed in Claim , substantially as described herein. 7 A process for the production of a structural member . for external use in the building industry which comprises shaping as a said structural member a synthetic thermoplastic plastics composition which comprises at least one pigment which is capable of high absorption of visible light and simultaneously of high reflection of infra-red radiation. 9, A process as claimed in Claim 7, in which the shaping is effected by deep-drawing, 10, A process as claimed in Claim 7, i which fejBhaping is effected by injection moulding,. 11. A process as claimed in any one of Claims 7 to 10, in which said composition comprises polyvinyl chloride as sole or main thermoplastic plastics component. 12. A process as claimed in any one of Claims 7 to 11, in which said composition comprises said at least one pigment in an amount of from 0,2 to 5$ by weight, 3t A process as claimed in an one of Claims 7 to 12, in which said composition oompiaea a black pigment constituted by or Sb233-Sb2(S04)5 in a black modification, 14.
