Abstract
The present invention describes a composition and a method for the promotion of the abscission of fruits of all kinds particularly of citrus fruit. The active principle therefore is an amine of formula I wherein:

Claims (12)
1. Agent for the promotion of the abscission of fruits, the said agent containing, as active substance, at least one amine of formula I wherein R^ represents an alkyl or alkenyl radical having 8 to 22 carbon atoms, R2 and R^ each independently represent hydrogen, or an alkyl radical having 1 to 12 carbon atoms, which can be substituted by amino, alkyl- or dialkylamino, and/or salts thereof, in combination with suitable carriers and or distributing agents.
2. Agent for the promotion of the abscission of citrus fruits, which agent contains as active substance at least one amine of formula I wherein R.^ represents an alkyl radical having 8 to 18 carbon atoms, R2 and R^ each independently represent hydrogen, a lower alkyl radical having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, or an aminoalkyl radical, and/or salts of such amines, in combination with suitable carriers and/or distributing agents.
3. Agent according to Claim 2 which contains, as active substance, at least one amine of formula I wherein represents an alkyl radical having 8 to 18 Ctrbon atoms, and and each independently represent methyl or ethyl radicals or the β-aminoethyl radical.
4. Agent according to Claim 2 which contains, as active substance, dimethyl-dodecylamine hydrochloride.
5. Agent according to Claim 2 which contains, as active substance, decylamine.
6. Agent according to Claim 2 which contains, as active substance, dodecylamine .
7. Agent according to Claim 2 which contains , as active substance, tridecylamine .
8. Agent according to Claim 2 which contains, as active substance, octylamine .
9. Agent according to Claim 2 which contains, as active substance, nonylamine. \
10. Agent according to Claim 2 which contains, as active substance, hexadecylamine .
11. A method for the abscission, of fruits for the purpose of facilitating harvesting, which comprises application to fruit hearing trees, shortly before the expected harvest time, of a compound of the general formula I in Claim 1, or of an ge t containing such a compound.
12. A method according to Claim 11 which comprises application of a compound of formula I in Claim 1, or of a agent containing, such a compound to citrus trees, shortly before the expected harvest time. For the Applicants KD/rb
