Claims (1)
1. A hollow integrally made, coilable , bendable and twistable guide for very short electromagnetic waves, whose inner space is rectangular in cross-section and has a ratio of .1:2 between the shor and long side, the outer contours of the long and shor sides of the waveguide are arcuately drawn in towards their centre in such a manner that differing wall thicknesses are formed in the peripheral direction of the waveguide cross-section, so that upon bending countertorque couples whic are located in the plane section but outside the internal contour are developed which act together with couples producing bending in the same direction to cancel out an turning effec of the couple which produces deformation of the cross-section and thus to permit to maintain the dimensions of the cross-section of the waveguide unchanged, wherein the arcuate recess of the outer contour of the longer side of the waveguide is so dimensioned that the wall thicknesses of each long sid has in its central portio half the thickness of the value (h) of the cross-sectio of the rounded portion connecting it with the adjoining short side, and the oute contours of each long side extend beyond the shorter aides in such a manner as to form lips, whos outer contour, outside the arcuated recesses, extends in a plane parallel to the long side of the cross-section of the hollow waveguide, said lips being rounded at their free ends and connected in continuatio with the withdraw arcuate portion of the short sides of the waveguide , the length and width of the lips being such that I respect to the long side and short side sur aces of the inner cross-section of the wav guide the ratio between th length and width of each lip is about 2.5 il. 2· A rectangular waveguide as claimed in Claim 1, in which the thickness of the waveguide wall at the longer side, measured in each plane determined by an individual shorte side Is such ft is the thickness of the waveguide wall at the longer side; and & is the maximum permissible bending stress in the material used for the waveguide wall. 3· A rectangular waveguide substantially as described with reference to the drawing.
