Claims (26)

CLAIMS:
1. A composition useful for controlling fungus disease in plants consisting essentially of an inert diluent and a compound of the formula * 1 R - O - N - C - CR in R is hydrogen; alkyl of 1 to 13 carbon atoms; alkvl of 1 to 13 carbon atoms substituted with alkoxycarbonyl of 2 to 4 carbon atoms, alkanoyl of 2 to 4 carbon atoms, alkaroyloxy of 2 to 4 carbon atoms or cyano; alkanoyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms; alkoxycarbonyl of 2 to 1 carbon atoms aralkyl of 7 to 10 carbon atoms; or a metal · selected from the group consisting of sodium, potassium, calcium, manganese, copper and iron: R^ is alkoxy of 1 to 4 carbon atoms or -NRaRaj R2 is hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to carbon atoms, alkoxy- carbonyl of 2 to carbon atoms or -CN ; Rj is hydrogen or alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms with the proviso that R-j is H wh n R2 is alkoxycarbonyl 41581/3 ^ is hydrogen or alkyl of 1 to carbon atoms; ' ^ Is hydrogen or alkyl of 1 to carbon atoms; and X is oxygen or sulfur. ' ,

The composition of Claim 1 wherein X is oxygen; R is hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 1J> carbon atoms, alkanoyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, alkoxycarbonyl of 2 to carbon atoms, or a metal selected from the group consisting of sodium, potassium, cal- cium, manganese, zinc, copper, and Iron; and R1 is -NHa, ' 0 II NHCH3 or -NHC- Ha .
3. · The composition of Claim 2 wherein R is hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 13 carbon atoms, or acetyl.
4. • 4. The composition of Claim 2 wherein R is hydrogen and R^ is NH^, 2-cyano-2-hydroximinoacetamide .
5. The composition of Claim 2 wherein R is methyl an R^ is Νϊ^, 2-cyano-2-methoxyiminoacetanu.de .
6. The composition of Claim 2 wherein R is methyl H 0 and R^ is - -CNI^, N-carbamoyl-2-cyano-2-methoxyiminoacetamide .
7. The composition of Claim 2 wherein R is acetyl, and R^ is -NHCH^ , 2-acetoxyimino-2-cyano-N-methylacetamide .
8. The composition of any one of Claims 1 to 7 containing an adjuvant selected from the group consisting of surfactants, water soluble film-forming polymers, humectants and non-phytotoxic oils.
9. A method of controlling fungus disease in plants consisting essentially of applying to the locus to be protected an effective amount of the composition of Claim 1. 41581/2
10. A method of controlling fungus disease in plants consisting essentially of applying to the locus to be protected an effective amount of the composition of Claim 2.
11. A method of controlling fungus diseases in plants consisting essentially of -applying to the locus to be protected an effective amount of the composition of Claim 3.
12. A method of controlling fungus disease in plants consisting essentially of applying to the locus to be protected an effective amount of the composition of Claim 4.
13. A method of controlling fungus disease in plants, consisting essentially of applying to the locus to be protected an effective amount of the composition of Claim 5.
14. . 14. A method of controlling fungus disease in plants consisting essentially of applying to the locus to be protected an effective amount of the composition of Claim 6.
15. A method of controlling fungus disease in plants consisting essentially of applying to the locus to be protected an effective amount of the composition of Claim 7.
16. The method of Claim 9 wherein £he composition contains the compound 2-cyano-2-hydroxyiminoacetamide, sodium salt.
17. The method of Claim 9 wherein the composition contains the compound 2-cyano-2-methoxyimino-N-methyl-carbamoylacetamide .
18. The method of Claim 9 wherein the composition contains the compound 2-cyano-N-ethylcarbamoyl-2-lfiethoxyiminoacetamide.
19. The method of Claim 9 wherein the composition contains the compound 2-cyano-2-ethoxyimino-N-ethylcarbamoyl-acetamide.
20. The method of Claim 9 wherein the composition 41531/3 contains the compound 2-cyano-2-methoxyimino-N-propylcarbamoyl- acetamide.- ■ -
21. A compound of the formula wherein R^ is hydrogen or alkyl of 1 to carbon atoms; RJ Is hydrogen or alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms; Rg Is alkyl of 1 to 13 carbon atoms; alkyl of 1 to 13 carbon atoms substituted with alkoxy- carbonyl of 2 to 4 carbon atoms, alkanoyl of 2 to 4 carbon atoms, alkanoyloxy of 2 to 4 carbon atoms or cyano; alkanoyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms; or aralkyl of 7 to 10 carbon atoms.
22. The compound of Claim 21 where R^ and ^ are hydrogen and Rg is methyl , N-carbamoyl-2-cyano-2-methoxy-iminoacetamide .
23. 2~Cyano-2-methoxyimino-N-methylcar"bamoylacetamide .
24. 2-Cyano-2-methoxyimino-N-ethylcarbamoylacetamide.
25. 2-Cyano-2-ethoxyimino-N-ethylcarbamoylacetamide .
26. 2-Cyano-2-methoxyimino-N-propylcarbamoylacetamide.
