Abstract
1421655 Pharmaceutical compositions DR KARL THOMAE GmbH 5 Jan 1973 [22 Jan 1972] 775/73 Heading A5B [Also in Division C2] Pharmaceutical compositions comprise as active ingredient a compound of formula: wherein Hal represents a chlorine or bromine atom in the 4- or 6-position of the benzene ring; R, represents an alkyl group containing from 1 to 3 carbon atoms; and R, represents a morpholino or isopropylamino group, or a physiologically acceptable acid addition salt thereof, a secretolytic and a pharmaceutical carrier or excipient. The secretolytic may be N-cyclohexyl-N-methyl-(2-amino-3, 5-dibromobenzyl)-ammonium chloride.

Claims (20)
1. Pharmaceutical products for the treatment of diseases involving respiratory insufficiency comprising : (a) a container containing a pharmaceutical composition comprising a compound of formula (wherein Hal represents a chlorine or bromine atom in the 4- or 6- position of the benzene ring; represents an alkyl group containing from 1 to 3 carbon atoms; and 12 represents a morpholino or isopropylamino group) or a physiologically acceptable acid addition salt thereof in association with a pharmaceutical carrier or excipient; and (b) written or printed directions to use the pharmaceutical composition in the treatment of diseases involving respiratory insufficiency.
2. Pharmaceutical products as claimed in claim 1 wherein the said compound of formula I is N-(2-benzoylamino-6- -chlorobenzyl )-N-methy1glycine-morpholide .
3. Pharmaceutical products as claimed in claim 1 wherein the said compound is N- (2-benzoylamino-6-chloro-benzyl )-N-isopropylglycine-morpholide ; N- (2-benzoylamino--4-chlorobenzyl )-N- methylglycine-isopropylamide ; or N- (2-benzoylamino-6-bromobenzyl )-N-methylglycine morpholide .
4. Pharmaceutical products as claimed in any of the preceding claims wherein the said pharmaceutical composition is present in dosage unit form.
5. Pharmaceutical products as claimed in claim 4 wherein each dosage unit contains from 20 to 240 mg of a compound of formula I or a physiologically acceptable acid addition salt thereof.
6. Pharmaceutical products as claimed in claim 5 adapted for oral administration wherein each dosage unit contains about 80 mg or about 160 mg of a compound of formula I or a physiologically acceptable acid addition salt thereof.
7. Pharmaceutical products as claimed in claim 5 adapted for parenteral administration wherein each dosage unit contains from 40 to 80 mg of a compound of formula I or a physiologically acceptable acid addition salt thereof.
8. Pharmaceutical products as claimed in any of the preceding claims wherein component (a) contains at least one 413.43/7^ further active ingredient.
9. Pharmaceutical products as claimed in claim 8 wherein the said further active ingredient is a secretoly- tic, cardiac glycoside, bronchodilator, antibiotic or cortico
10. Pharmaceutical products substantially as herein described.
11. Pharmaceutical compositiorB for the treatment of diseases involving respiratory insufficiency comprising a compound of formula I (as defined in claim 1) or a physiologically acceptable acid addition salt thereof in association with a pharmaceutical carrier or excipient. 41343/3
12. Pharmaceutical compositions as claimed in claim 11 for the treatment of ventilation dependent respiratory insufficiency when the respiratory paths are blocked with secretion, which also contain a secretolytic .
13. Pharmaceutical compositions as claimed in claim 11 for the treatment of circulatory dependent respiratory insufficiency, which also contain a "-cardiac glysoside and/or a bronchial dilator.
14. Pharmaceutical compositions as claimed in claim 11 for the treatment of bronchopulmonary diseases, which also contain an antibiotic or corticoid.
15. Pharmaceutical compositions as claimed in any of claims 15 to.18 wherein the said compound of formula I is N-(2-benzoylamino-6-chlorobenzyl )-N-methylglycine--morpholide .

Pharmaceutical compositions as claimed in any of claims 11 to 16 wherein the said compound of formula I is N-(2-benzoylamino-6-chlorobenzyl )-N-isopropylglycine- -morpholide; N- (2-benzoylamino-4-chlorobenzyl )-N-methyl- 41343/2 glycine-isopropylamide; or N-(2-benzoylamino-6-bromo-benzyl )-N-methylglycine morpholide.
17. 1 Pharmaceutical compositions as claimed in any of claims 11 to 16 in dosage unit form.
18. Pharmaceutical compositions as claimed in claim 17 in dosage unit form as defined in any of claims 5 to 7.
19. Pharmaceutical compositions as claimed in any of claims 11 to 18 substantially as herein described.
20. Pharmaceutical compositions for the treatment of diseases involving respiratory insufficiency, substantially as herein described in any of the Examples.
