Claims (10)

1. An apparatus for measuring and adjusting chassis geometry of a motor vehicle, comprising a pair of optically matched tools, one of which includes device with a laser emitter and other tool — device with a plane target deflecting a laser beam, each tool having a mounting support adapted to mount the tool on an internal side of a circular element of a wheel and an X-direction orienting level which perpendicular to the laser beam and parallel to the plane target, wherein the devices and the mounting supports are pivotally connected to each other through a pivot pins disposed parallel to abscissa axis of the X-direction orienting level, wherein the mounting supports are designed as a bracket having faces formed mostly by a pair of right dihedral angles (internal and external) , said bracket having edges parallel to the abscissa axis of the X-direction orienting level; wherein the internal bracket faces are equipped with a fixing means intended for holding the bracket on the internal side of the circular element of the wheel, and a first external bracket face comprises the rigidly fixed X-direction orienting level, and a second external bracket face bears said device as well as a Y-direction orienting level disposed mainly perpendicular to the abscissa axis of the X-direction orienting level on the plane parallel to the said abscissa axis. 184004/3 25
2. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein each tool is provided with a catch to hold the position of the said device relative to the mounting support.
3. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the said fixing means holding the bracket on the internal side of the wheel element are represented by the constant magnets built into each of the internal faces of the bracket.
4. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the said fixing means holding the bracket on the internal side of the wheel element are represented by the electromagnets built into each of the internal faces of the bracket.
5. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the said fixing means holding the bracket on the internal side of the wheel element are represented by the vacuum cups built into each of the internal faces of the bracket.

The apparatus of claim 1, wherein one of the tools comprises a symmetrical scale with a rotary pointer hav¬ ing the axis of rotation disposed on the axis of symmetry of the scale, said tool further comprises a Z-direction orienting level; and the symmetrical scale and the axis of rotation of the pointer are fixed on the plane parallel to the said bracket edge, and a Z-direction orienting level is rigidly fixed on the plane perpendicular to the said bracket edge.
7. The apparatus of claim 6, wherein said symmetrical scale with the rotary pointer are situated on the plane 184004/3 26 which is the plane of the said device.
8. The apparatus of claim 6, wherein said Z-direction orienting level is rigidly fixed on the plane which is the plane of the said device.
9. The apparatus of claim 6, wherein the rotary pointer is T-shaped, and a horizontal flange of said T-shape is perpendicular to the pointer, said Y-direction orienting level is arc-shaped and provided with a scale for measuring small angles, said Y-direction orienting level is fixed on the horizontal flange of the T-shaped pointer in such a way that the centre of curvature of said level and the centre of rotation of the pointer are situated on the same straight line but on different sides regarding the said flange.

The apparatus of claim 9, wherein the T-shaped pointer is combined with a double-armed lever having one arm connected to the micrometer screw-pusher which displaces the lever and hence rotates the T-shaped pointer relative to the pointer' s axis of rotation, and the other arm being connected to a restoring spring.
