Description
PROTECTIVE NETTING AGAINST SMALL INSECTS AND FINE PARTICLES AND A METHOD FOR PRODUCTION THEREOF FIELD OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to netting, especially useful for hindering the passage of small insects and any fine particles through said netting. The present invention particularly relates to any fibrous netting, providing proper air ventilation, comprising a combination of plurality of bristly fibers and non-bristles fiber; wherein the bristle fibers comprising frizzles, hairs or the like, incorporated in the warp and/or the weft fibers of said netting, and wherein said bristles hinder the passage of said small insects and any fine particles through the mesh (e.g. the space between the fibers); and further wherein said non-bristles fibers providing the mechanical stability of said netting. The present invention also relates to a method for the production of the aforementioned netting and its use for various agricultural, industrial or domestic purposes.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Fibrous netting are commonly used for various agricultural, industrial or domestic purposes. One particular use of the aforementioned netting is for protecting the passage of insects to greenhouses and the like.
Those netting traditionally comprise warp and weft witted mesh of fibers. Increasing number of the warp and weft fibers weave in a netting, bigger the mesh number, smaller the mash size (i.e., the opening through the netting), and harder is the passage of undesired insects through the netting. Thus, Israeli patent No. 1 19,919 states that for a mesh size of 0.3 to 0.83mm is effectively hindering the passage of the Bemisia tabaci insect.
Traditionally, both warp and weft are composed of homogeneous mesh, made of either smooth polymeric fibers or thin metal wires. The stability of those homogenous netting is enabled by using strong fibers. Nevertheless, it is quite difficult and costly to produce stable netting of a small mesh size, and thus effectively hindering the passage of insects or any other fine particles through the netting.
On one hand, cotton fibers and many other bristle fibers are unstable mechanically. On the other hand, non-bristle fibers enables the production of stable netting, yet the weaved netting is of respectively mesh size, allowing the passage of small insects and fine particles to penetrate through the mesh of the warp and weft fibers of the netting.
Surprisingly, I have found a novel, cost effective and most efficient netting, enabling to hinder the passage of small insects and fine particles, yet allowing of proper air ventilation throughout the netting.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The aim of the present invention is thus to provide A fibrous netting, providing proper air ventilation, especially useful for hindering the passage of small insects and any fine particles through said netting; comprising a combination of plurality of bristly fibers and non-bristly fibers; wherein said bristle fibers, comprising frizzles, hairs or the like, incorporated in the warp and/or the weft fibers of said netting, so said bristles hinder the passage of said small insects and fine particles through the space between the fibers; and wherein said non-bristly fibers providing the mechanical stability of said netting.
It is also provided, according to another preferred embodiment of the present invention, the fibrous netting defined above, wherein either the warp fibers and/or the weft fibers comprising bristly fibers and non-bristly fibers in the quantitative ratio of 2: 1 to 1 :4.
It is also provided, according to another preferred embodiment of the present invention, the fibrous netting defined above, wherein either the warp fibers and/or the weft fibers comprising bristly fibers and non-bristly fibers in the quantitative ratio of 1 :1 to 1 :2.
It is also provided, according to another preferred embodiment of the present invention, the fibrous netting defined above, wherein the bristly fibers are at least partially made of polyesters, polyacryles, polyacrylonitriles, nylon 6:6, silk, cotton or wool.
It is also provided, according to another preferred embodiment of the present invention, the fibrous netting defined above, wherein the non-bristly fibers are at least partially made of materials adapted to bare a tearing forces in the range of 1-100 N per one fiber, selected form metallic wires, or any suitable polymeric fibers.
It is also provided, according to another preferred embodiment of the present invention, the fibrous netting defined above, wherein the polymeric fibers are selected from high-density polyethylene, polypropylene or polyamides.
It is also provided, according to another preferred embodiment of the present invention, the fibrous netting defined above, wherein the average diameter of the bristly fibers is in the range of 0.1 to 2.4 mm.
It is also provided, according to another preferred embodiment of the present invention, the fibrous netting defined above, wherein the average diameter of the non-bristly fibers is in the range of 0.1 to 2.4 mm.
It is also provided, according to another preferred embodiment of the present invention, the fibrous netting defined above, wherein the small insects and fine particles are selected from insects, dust and any small particle comprising at least one face smaller then 2.5 mm.
It is also provided, according to another preferred embodiment of the present invention, the fibrous netting defined above, characterized with a mesh number in the range of 8 to 100 fibers per inch in either the warp or the weft fibers.
It is also provided, according to another preferred embodiment of the present invention, the fibrous netting defined above, characterized with a mesh size in the range of 0.05 to 2.5 mm.
It is also provided, according to another preferred embodiment of the present invention, the fibrous netting defined above, wherein the insects are selected from Ants, Aphids, Armyworms, Bag worms, Bees, Beetles, Black vine weevils, Caterpillars, Chinch bugs, Cockroaches, Crickets, Earwings, Flies, Fungus gnats, Lacebugs, Grasshoppers, Japanese beetles, Lace-bugs, Leaf feeding caterpillars, Leaf hoppers, Leaf rollers Leaf miners, Mealybugs, Mites and especially Dust Mites, Mole crickets, Pantry pests, Pill bugs, Root weevils, Scales, Shore flies, Spider mites, Spotted tentaform leafminers, Thrips, Two-spotted mites, Wasps or Whiteflies.
It is also provided, according to another preferred embodiment of the present invention, the fibrous netting defined above, wherein the fine particles comprising either inorganic or organic entities, selected from dust, flying dust, pollen and any other allergy causing factors, soot, and ash.
It is also provided, according to another preferred embodiment of the present invention, the fibrous netting defined above, used in any agriculture, industrial, or domestic utilization, selected from protective netting, greenhouses, barriers, fences, window covering or curtains.
It is still provided, according to another preferred embodiment of the present invention, the fibrous netting defined above, wherein either the bristly fibers or the non-bristly fibers are at least partially coated by at least one additive, or comprising said at least one additive, wherein said additive is selected from UV absorbents; UV stabilizers; insecticides; algocides; bactericides; fungicides; herbicides; any composition which reject insects; or alternatively, any composition which attract insects; any catalytic substances useful for binding and/or reacting with ionic or non-ionic entities; fire retardant; flame retardant; pigments, or dyes.
Lastly, another object of the present invention is method for the production of the netting as defined above, by weaving and additionally or alternatively by knitting the bristly fibers with non-bristly fibers, so the warp fibers and/or the weft fibers comprising said bristly fibers and said non-bristly fibers in the quantitative ratio of 2: 1 to 1 :4.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES Figure 1 presents insects and fine particle protective fibrous netting according to the present invention, comprising bristly fibrous and non-bristly fibers, in a quantitative ratio of 1 : 1 in either the warp fibers or the weft fibers.
Figure 2 presents insects and fine particle protective fibrous netting according to the present invention, comprising bristly fibrous and other fibers, in a quantitative ratio of 1 :2 in either the warp fibers or the weft fibers.
Figure 3 presents insects and fine particle protective fibrous netting according to the present invention, comprising bristly fibrous and other fibers, in a quantitative ratio of 1 :2 in the warp fibers and 1 : 1 in the weft fibers.
Figure 4 presents insects and fine particle protective fibrous netting according to the present invention, comprising bristly fibrous and other fibers, in a quantitative ratio of 1 : 1 in the weft fibers.
Figure 5 presents insects and fine particle protective fibrous netting according to the present invention, comprising bristly fibrous and other fibers, in a quantitative ratio of 1 :2 in the warp fibers and 2: 1 in the weft fibers.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The aim of the present invention is thus to provide a fibrous netting, enabling proper air ventilation, comprising a combination of plurality of bristly fibers and non-bristles fiber; wherein the bristle fibers comprising frizzles, hairs or the like, incorporated in the warp and/or the weft fibers of said netting, and wherein said bristles hinder the passage of said small insects and any fine particles through the mesh (e.g. the space between the fibers); and further wherein said non-bristles fibers providing the mechanical stability of said netting In the present invention, the term 'bristly fibers' is denoted for any fibers comprising frizzles, hairs, flaps or the like. Said bristly fibers are selected, according another preferred embodiment of the present invention, from any fiber which at least partially made or coated by polyesters, polyacrylonitriles, nylon 6:6, silk, cotton, wool or the like; and additionally or alternatively, at least partially comprising portions made or coated by above defined materials.
The following description is provided, along all chapters of the present invention, to enable any person skilled in the art to make use said invention and sets forth the best modes contemplated by the inventor of carrying out this invention. Various modifications, however, will remain apparent to those skilled in the art, since the generic principles of the present invention have been defined specifically to provide for an improved insects and fine particle protective fibrous netting according to the present invention.
In the present invention, the term 'non-bristly fibers' is denoted for fibers that are at least partially made of materials adapted to bare a tearing forces in the range of 100-500 N, selected form metallic wires, or any suitable polymeric fibers, selected from high density polyethylene, polypropylene, or polyamides.
Nonetheless, it is acknowledged that the term 'non-bristly fiber' may also referred in certain systems to 'bristly fibers' as defined above, and that in cases that at least portion of said 'bristly fibers' are adapted to bare a tearing forces in the range of 1-100 N.
According to one preferred embodiment of the present invention, the fibrous netting defined above is provided, wherein the warp fibers, and additionally or alternatively the weft fibers, comprising bristly fibers and non-bristly fibers in the quantitative ratio of 2: 1 to 1 :4.
According to another particularly preferred embodiment of the present invention, the fibrous netting defined above is provided, wherein the warp fibers and additionally or alternatively the weft fibers, comprising bristly fibers and non-bristly fibers in the quantitative ratio of 1 : 1 to 1 :2.
It is also provided, according to another preferred embodiment of the present invention, the fibrous netting defined above, wherein the small entities is selected from insects, dust and any fine particles comprising at least one face smaller than 5 mm. In the present invention, the term 'at least one face' is referred to a any side of said small entity which is smaller then approximately 5 mm, thus enabling the passage of said entity throughout a porous provided by the warp and weft fibers of said netting.
It is also provided, according to another preferred embodiment of the present invention, the fibrous netting defined above, wherein said dust comprising either inorganic or organic entities, selected from dust, flying dust, pollen and any other allergy causing factors, soot or ash.
It is also provided, according to another preferred embodiment of the present invention, the fibrous netting defined above, used in any agriculture, industrial, or domestic utilization, selected from protective nets and the like, greenhouses and the like, barriers and the like, window covering and the like, curtains and the like.
Another object of the present invention is a method for the production of the netting defined above, by weaving the fibrous fibers, so the warp fibers and/or the weft fibers comprising bristly fibers and non-bristly fibers in the quantitative ratio of 2: 1 to 1 :4.
Reference is made now to Figure 1, presenting the insects and fine particle protective fibrous netting according to the present invention, comprising bristly fibers (1) (e.g., the fibers shaded in the present invention in dark colors) comprising bristles (2) and non-bristly fibers (3) (namely the smooth white fibers described in the present invention), in a quantitative ratio of 1 : 1 in either the warp fibers ( ) and the weft fibers (ii). The space between the warp and weft fibers is referred in the present invention as the mesh size (4).
Reference is made now to Figure 2, presenting the small insects and fine particle protective fibrous netting according to the present invention, comprising bristly fibrous and non-bristly fibers, in a quantitative ratio of 1 :2 in either the warp fibers and the weft fibers.
Reference is made now to Figure 3, presenting the small insects and fine particle protective fibrous netting according to the present invention, comprising bristly fibrous and non-bristly fibers, in a quantitative ratio of 1 :2 in the warp fibers and 1 : 1 in the weft fibers.
Reference is made now to Figure 4, presenting the small insects and fine particle protective fibrous netting according to the present invention, comprising bristly fibrous and non-bristly fibers, in a quantitative ratio of 1 : 1 in the weft fibers.
Lastly, reference is made now to Figure 5, presenting the small insects and fine particle protective fibrous netting according to the present invention, comprising bristly fibrous and non-bristly fibers, in a quantitative ratio of 1 :2 in the warp fibers and 2: 1 in the weft fibers.
