Abstract
A bottle defines a neck in its upper part topped with a crown (1) defining a thread adapted to receive a threaded cap, characterized in that the crown has a wall the external diameter (D2) of which is approximately 1.08 to 1.10 times the internal wall diameter (D1), and preferably 1.09 times the internal wall diameter, and is topped with a flange (3) of which the external diameter (D3) is approximately 1.13 to 1.15 times the internal wall diameter (D1), and preferably 1.14 times the internal wall diameter, and of which the height (h) is approximately 0.1 times the internal wall diameter (D1), and wherein the external wall surface defines a thread (4) of which the external outline diameter (D4) is approximately 1.24 to 1.28 times the internal wall diameter (D1), and preferably 1.26 times the internal wall diameter. <Figure 1>
Description
The present invention relates to a bottle, in particular a bottle made of 5 polyethylene teraphthalate (PET), which is used for the storage and transportation of liquids, especially beverages with normal or increased pressure.
A bottle is a shaped container with a shaped bottle neck. The crown has an internal duct and on its outside there is a shaped thread, usually a trapezoid thread with vertical gaps.
In the state of the art, the external diameter of the crown is approximately equal to 1.14 times the external diameter. The shaped crown has an external thread.
i
This solution requires a significant amount of plastics raw material.
As the diameter is even along the whole external surface, the thread on the surface is of limited height, therefore it has a decreased contact surface with the cap thread.
The present invention provides a bottle defining a neck in its upper part topped with a crown defining a thread adapted to receive a threaded cap, characterized in that the crown has a wall the external diameter of which is approximately 1.08 to 1.10 times the internal wall diameter, and preferably 1.09 times the internal wall diameter, and is topped with a flange of which the external diameter is approximately 1.13 to 1.15 times the internal wall diameter, and preferably 1.14 times the internal wall diameter, and of which the height is approximately 0.1 times the internal wall diameter, and wherein the external wall surface defines a thread of which the external outline diameter is approximately 1.24 to 1.28 times the internal wall diameter, and preferably 1.26 times the internal wall diameter.
The present invention provides the following technical advantages and uses:
decrease in raw material consumption for the manufacture of the bottle.
IE 0 6 0258 decrease in manufacturing costs,
- improvement of cap tightness,
- better placement of cap side surfaces at sealing surfaces,
- decrease in bottle weight,
- more preferable force distribution on the thread contact surfaces improves bottle tightness.
The present invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing (Fig. 1), which shows a side elevation of the bottle crown.
The cylindrical crown 1, which is located at the top of the neck of a bottle (not shown), has an internal surface which defines a duct 2, of internal diameter DI. The external crown surface has a diameter D2 equal to approximately 1.09 times the diameter DI. Flange 3 has a height h equal to approximately 0.1 times the diameter
DI, and has an external diameter D3 equal to approximately 1.13 to 1.15 times, and preferably 1.14 times the internal wall diameter DI. The crown on the external wall surface has a sectional thread 4 with the external outline diameter D4, equal to approximately 1.26 times the internal wall diameter DI. Below the thread the crown 1 has standard PET flanges 5.
