Abstract

A water treadmill apparatus (1) is for, among other uses, horse strength and conditioning training, injury prevention and treatment. A frame (13) supports in a unitary manner an enclosure (2) with an entrance door (4), an exit door (5), and a side viewing window (3). A water tank (9) is mounted laterally of the enclosure, also rectangular and being juxtaposed with the enclosure. A water handling system (25, 30, 40) has pipes, valves, and pumps for filling the enclosure from the tank under gravity, for emptying of the enclosure with filtration, and for recirculation filtering of the water in the tank (9) which enters the enclosure, under control of a PLC (10). The base of the tank is at a higher level than that of the enclosure, for gravity filling, and many components are mounted under the tank. The apparatus may be transported and deployed as a stand-alone unit without need for groundworks at the site, and it may be easily transported in a shipping container and deployed with minimal expertise as the site. <Figure 3>
