Abstract

The invention relates to a device for coupling a longitudinal metal specimen (1) to a tensile-testing device (4, 5), the specimen being subjected to tensile tests and comprising a flattened rectangular cross-section with two large surfaces (6, 7) and two small surfaces (8, 9). According to the invention, the end (2, 3) of the specimen has a general arrow shape such that the said two small surfaces (8, 9) are inclined towards each other there, whilst the two large surfaces remain parallel to each other, such that the said inclined surfaces are provided with sawtooth-section parallel grooves (13) extending perpendicularly to the axis of the specimen, the teeth being inclined in the same direction as the said surfaces, and such that the tensile- testing device comprises a rigid counterpiece (11) of a shape complementing that of the arrow-shaped end of the specimen (1), the length of the grooves of this counterpiece being at least equal to that of the grooves (13) on the specimen (1). <IMAGE> [EP0267492A1]
