Abstract

Dried peat fuel with or without addition of solid or liquid fuels is gasified (10) with oxygen or air enriched in oxygen at a pressure above atmospheric The produced gas with high calorific value is cooled (16) and purified (8) from dust and condensed water. The purified gas is burnt (18) with air and drives a gas turbine (21-23) and is then cooled in a waste heat boiler (4). The gas is then used for drying (2) of peat to a dried peat fuel. The gas turbine as well a steam turbine (27) coupled to the waste heat boiler are driving electric generators (24, 27) producing electric energy. [SE8001272L]
