Abstract
The current interruptor system has a fixed contact which can interact with a movable contact. It is connected by a flexible conductor to a terminal. It has further a magnetic blow-out device. This magnetic blow-out device consists of a winding carrying the current to be broken. Its magnetic field is carried to the breaking point by pole pieces. The winding (1) consists of a flexible conductor (2) connecting the movable contact (3) on an insulating support (4) to the corresponding terminal (5).
Description
The invention concerns a circuit breaker with a fixed contact, which operates in conjunction with a moving contact connected by means of a flexible lead to a terminal, and with a magnetic quenching device, consisting of a winding, traversed by the circuitbreaker current, the magnetic field of xvhich is guided by Means Of pole-pieces into the vicinity of the interruption zone.
Such circuit breakers (FS.-PS 8 09 426) are used 10 in particular for the interruption of heavy currents where, hitherto, the quenching coil has been formed from one or more turns of a heavy conductor placed in the vicinity of the fixed contact.
The object of the invention is to simplify the 15 construction of the circuit-breaker of the type described in the introduction.
According to the invention this object is achieved by forming the winding with a flexible Conductor, which simultaneously connects the moving contact, which is mounted on a bearer made of insulating material, to the corresponding terminal.
An example of the construction of the invention is described with the aid of the drawing.
Pig. 1 shows a side view of the circuit breaker and
Pig. 2 a corresponding plan view.
The circuit breaker shown in Fig. 1 has a fixed contact 7, which is made fast to a first terminal 8 of the housing. A moving contact 3, which is mounted on a lever 9, co-operates with the fixed contact 7.
This lever 9 can pivot on a bearing surface 13, which is formed from insulating material in the contact bearer 4, which in turn can be pivoted about a fixed axis YY', fixed to the housing 14, only a part of which is shown.
The contact bearer has a fork 15, which serves to connect it with the movable part of an electromagnet (not shown), or of some other driving member, for example a pneumatic cylinder, the direction of operation of which is indicated by the arrow P. A pivotable bolt 12, hooked into the contact bearer 4, compresses a spiral spring 11, the other end of which bears on a seating 10 of the lever 9, in order to ensure contact pressure on closure.
A conducting portion 17, which is permanently connected to the moving contact 3 or with the metallic lever 9 or mounted between these two parts and clamped by a bolt 26, has at least one opening 16, which can receive one end 18 of a flexible stranded copper conductor 2, which forms a turn 20, the axis XX' of which is placed above and in the vicinity of the moving contact, when the latter is open. This axis is also the axis of a magnetic core 19, which is integral with magnetic cheeks, of which cheek 21 is shown in dotted lines and extends as far as the
- 4 Λ interruption zone 22, and cheek 25 is visible in Fig
2.
The other end 23 of the stranded conductor 22 is mechanically and electrically connected to a bracket 24, which can be the extension of the second terminal 5 or connected thereto.
Thus this stranded conductor 2 simultaneously effects the electrical connection of the moving contact with the terminal and serves as a winding for the magnetic quenching of the ares.
Fig. 2 shows this first stranded conductor 2, parallel to which a second stranded conductor 6 is mounted, symmetrical to the first with respect to the plane PP1. The plane PP' is the plane of movement of the moving contact when closing and opening.
Claims (2)
1. Electrical circuit breaker with a fixed contact which acts with a moving contact connected to a terminal by a flexible conductor and with a 5 magnetic quenching device consisting of a winding, traversed by the circuit-breaker current, the magnetic field of which is guided by means of pole-pieces into the vicinity of the interruption zone, characterized in that the winding formed from a flexible conductor 10 simultaneously connects the moving contact, which is mounted on a bearer made of insulating material to the corresponding terminal and in addition serves as a winding for a magnetic quenching device.
2. A circuit breaker according to claim 1, 15 characterized by the fact that the winding consists of two parallel-connected conductors, which are arranged symmetrically with respect to the plane of movement of a rotary moving contact and that the conductors are wound about a fixed axis which is in the vicinity of the 20 position in which the moving contact lies when in the open position.
