Abstract

The preparation of the esters of general formula I, having a pesticidal action, in which R is an optionally substituted alkyl or cycloalkyl group and A is a phenoxy, phenylthio or benzyl radical, is carried out by reacting a correspondingly substituted benzaldehyde with an acid halide of the formula R.CO.Hal in the presence of water, a water-soluble cyanide and a water-insoluble aprotic solvent. In accordance with the invention, the yield is increased by the presence of a phase-transfer catalyst, for example an onium compound. <IMAGE> [FR2342960A1]
