Abstract
1487361 Autographic registers LAMSON INDUSTRIES Ltd 2 Jan 1975 [10 Jan 1974 13 Dec 1974] 01194/74 and 53901/74 Heading B6A A continuous manifolding web assembly in an autographic register comprises a plurality of superposed record webs and one or more interleaved transfer sheets or webs, the transfer sheets or webs bearing colourless colour former material and the associated record webs bearing developer material. When a mark is made on the uppermost record web, the pressure transfers colour former from the transfer sheets or webs on to the associated record webs where it is developed into a visible copy. The transfer webs may be fed transversely of the feed direction of the record webs and then either stored or torn off. Alternatively, stationary, repeatedly usable transfer sheets may be used. The transfer sheets or webs may have a paper or plastics film base which may or may not be coated on either side before the colour former layer is applied. One of the coatings may be porous and contain the colour former. Specific examples of suitable colour formers and coatings are disclosed. The developer material on the record webs may be of the acid clay or phenolic resin type.
