1456666 Cutting silage P ROGERS and J ROGERS 19 Feb 1974 [28 Feb 1973] 10661/73 Heading A4C Silage-cutting apparatus comprises a pair of cutter blades 22, 24 depending, at right angles to each other, from a top frame 14 extending horizontally from an, in use, vertical frame 12 above horizontal tines 16, blade 22 being parallel to frame 12 and blade 24 being adjacent one end of blade 22, a hydraulic ram 40 being operable to raise and lower said blades relative to frame 12, which comprises two telescoping parts 12A, 12B, and said blades being connected by an L-shaped linkage 36 mounted on a cam 37 operable to cause oscillatory movement of the blades. Each blade is mounted in a generally U-shaped holder 26, 28 suspended from the top frame by pivoted arms 30, Bars 29 provided with slits at their lower ends for said blades also depending from said frame and further support the blades, which have undulated cutting edges.
