Abstract

1404239 Semi-conductor gating and limiting circuits RANK ORGANISATION Ltd 19 Sept 1973 [25 Sept 1972] 44207/72 Heading H3T An input signal is blocked if it changes too fast or its amplitude falls the wrong side of a reference voltage. The reference threshold is set at 27, and if the input amplified at 15 falls below this threshold, the output of an amplifier 25 goes negative to turn off F.E.T. 18, which normally passes the signal to output amplifier 20. F.E.T. 18 is alternatively turned off by a negative output from differentiator 14. Amplifier 30 has one input slowed by C34, R33 so that the inverting input operates first on a signal change followed by the non- inverting input; this gives a waveform (Fig. 2c, not shown) equivalent to differentiation. Diodes 36, 37 and amplifier 35 full wave rectify the output of 30. [GB1404239A]
