1416598 Substituted formylazapentadienenitriles BYK GULDEN LOMBERG CHEMISCHE FABRIK GmbH 5 Sept 1973 [8 Sept 1972 (2)] 41665/73 Heading C2C Substituted formylazapentadienenitriles of the general formula and their salts with organic or inorganic acids, wherein R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP>, same or different, are C 1-7 straight or branched alkyl radicals or C 3-6 cycloalkyl radicals or R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP> together are a C 2-5 alkylene group in which optionally one or more methylene groups is replaced by -O-, -S- or -NR<SP>7</SP>- in which R<SP>7</SP> is H or C 1-7 alkyl, are prepared by hydrolysis of a compound of general formula wherein R<SP>8</SP> and R<SP>9</SP> are defined as R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP> above, and, if desired, a free compound is converted into a salt or a salt is converted into a free compound or another salt. In the examples 3 - chloro - 5 - dimethylamino - 2 - formyl - 4- aza-2,4-pentadienenitrile is prepared. Bactericidal, fungicidal and insecticidal compositions comprise the above compounds as active agents together with a carrier. [GB1416598A]
