1368922 Propylene oxide SNAM PROGETTI SpA 9 March 1973 [13 March 1972] 11602/73 Heading C2C Propylene oxide is prepared by reacting propylene with oxygen or a gaseous mixture containing oxygen in the presence of a silver-based catalyst and in the presence of water vapour which forms 2-25% by volume of the combined volume of propylene, oxygen and water vapour. The silver-based catalyst contains silver of silver compounds with, optionally, one or more activators consisting of magnesium, calcium, barium, strontium, selenium, tellurium, lead, tin or arsenic and may be deposited on an inert support.
