Abstract
1385672 Fluid/fluid contact apparatus MASS TRANSFER LTD 18 Jan 1972 [18 Dec 1970 4 Oct 1971] 60280/70 and 46165/71 Heading B1R Fluid/fluid contact apparatus comprises a packed bed at least part of which is a dumped bed formed of packing members each comprising an open ended tubular member having a diameter (defined as the maximum transverse dimension in a plane perpendicular to its longitudinal axis) greater than its width (defined as the length of a coaxial light tube having the same cross section as the tubular member at one end thereof and having the same surface area) and having one or more ribs or protuberances extending inwardly from the inside wall of the member, the packing member having an overall length less than its diameter (as defined above).
