917,906. Packing for gas/liquid contact column.s BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODAFABRIK A.G. Jan. 19, 1961 [Jan. 22, 1960], No. 2155/61. Class 55 (2). Packing for a gas/ liquid contact column consists of cylindrical pieces made of a plastics material such as polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene or polypentene, each piece having sets of openings 2 (Fig. 1) in its wall and sets of stiffening webs 4 which are axially connected. As shown in Fig. 2, the sets of webs are set at an angle of 45 degrees to each other and in this case the axial connecting-piece is of star cross-section. The openings 2 shown as rectangular may be square, circular, semi-circular or of oval-shape.
