Abstract

1332087 Chair frames and joints NAVAN STEEL PRODUCTS Ltd 18 Feb 1972 [19 Feb 1971] 7515/72 Heading A4H A chair has a moulded seat portion 1 mounted upon a metal leg portion (2, 3) wherein the seat portion has integrally moulded on its underside two loops 9 and two sockets 10 which slidably receive complementary tongues 6, 7 on the leg portion, the loops, sockets and/or tongues being resiliently flexible and at least two of the tongues 7 having projections 8 which engage in apertures 11 in the sockets or loops to prevent withdrawal. The tongues 6, 7 are formed on the ends of bracing elements 5 to which the tubular legs (2a, 2b, 3a, 3b) are welded. The seat portion is moulded from plastics or fibre glass, and may consist of sheet material. The chair is stackable. [GB1332087A]
