Abstract

The coating contains (1) finely divided graphite obtained by flaking followed by wet milling with a surface active agent, (2) an air hardening binder (inorganic silicate) incorporated before, during or after grinding. The paint contains 25 - 75% pve of conductive particles of which 14 - 70% pvc are thin graphite flakes, 2 - 35% pvc are colloidal carbon particles of 20 - 60 millimicrons. The product is used as a conductive paint suitable for elements for wall heating where potential differences are too great when known carbon filled coatings are used, and conductivity is too high for use of metal filled paints.
