Abstract

1282226 Boring earth &c G W MURPHY INDUSTRIES Inc 26 Jan 1970 [28 March 1969] 3705/70 Heading E1F A drill head has roller cutters 40 each rotatable between legs 20, 22 on bearings 44, 46, 48, 50 carried by a hollow shaft 42 having an eccentric bore 76 and arranged so that the minimum shaft thickness is at the side of the shaft remote from the surface being cut. The shaft has shoulders 56, 58 engaging shoulders 36, 38 on the legs, and the bore is engaged by bushes 52, 54 held in the legs by a bolt 72. Lubricant is supplied to the bearings through fitting 88, duct 90 in the bolt, and a slot and grooves in a sleeve 82. [GB1282226A]
